Block JPDA 11-106 was previously the relinquished parts of Block JPDA 06-105 that Eni handed back in the wake of its Kitan discovery.
Water depths in the permit are between 100 metres and 500 metres, and the block is owned by operator Eni on 40.53%, Inpex with 35.47% and Timor-Leste national oil company Timor Gap on 24%.
The joint venture made a work commitment to drill two exploration wells in the first two years, and has separate options for two contingent wells.
