Aster, in the Tarakan basin's Bukat block, has been around for a few years, and the company has already submitted a development plan for the field in which it holds a 66.25% operating stake, with partner Anadarko Petroleum holding 33.75%.
It is not known when the discovery was made, but the Aster-2 and Aster-3 appraisal wells were successfully drilled in 2005.
