Italy’s Eni will commission a geotechnical contractor within weeks to assess seabed conditions off Mozambique, where more data is needed on a steep escarpment over which gas pipelines from the Mamba field will traverse, writes Iain Esau.
The operator has received expressions of interest last week and could award a contract quickly.
Netherlands-based Fugro is likely to be well-placed to secure this contract, having carried out two deep-water geotechnical and environmental surveys in 2017 for Eni.
