Italian state-controlled oil company Eni has won the West Ganal exploration block in the Kutei basin off East Kalimantan, the only acreage to be awarded in Indonesia's second licensing round of 2019.

West Ganal is a new gross split production sharing contract that covers 1129 square kilometres contiguous to Eni’s East Sepinggan and Muara Bakau PSCs in the Makassar Strait.
