Italy’s Eni is gearing up to issue bid documents for a major engineering exercise on a multi-billion-dollar gas and liquids project off Libya centred on a huge production platform, a large wellhead platform, subsea wells, multiple pipelines and an onshore processing train.
Industry sources said the sheer scale of the integrated development to exploit the shallow-water A and E discoveries means that the basic engineering and front-end engineering and design package is expected to be a key target for big contractors such as KBR, Petrofac, Wood and WorleyParsons.
