Beleaguered Brazilian shipyard Enseada has filed for judicially-supervised bankruptcy protection amid a dearth in orders, writes Gareth Chetwynd.

The yard was built in the first part of the decade by a consortium made up of Brazilian construction and engineering firms Odebrecht, UTC Engenharia and OAS but has laid largely unitilised in the aftermath of Brazil’s Car Wash corruption scandal and the downturn in the country’s offshore sector since the oil price crash in 2014.
