Canadian rig contractor Trinidad Drilling has agreed to merge with rival Ensign Energy Services following the success of Ensign's hostile takeover bid.
Under the terms of the agreement, Ensign will acquire the remaining shares of Trinidad, which will become a wholly-owned subsidiary of Ensign.
The deal must be approved by shareholders and a meeting of Trinidad investors has been set for 31 January for that purpose.
