Canadian driller Ensign Energy has won three new one-year contracts for work in the Permian basin of Texas and New Mexico in the US, writes Caroline Evans.
The contracts, for three of the company's ADR-1500 super spec-type rigs, were awarded by what Ensign described as a "major customer" with which Ensign already has six rigs working in the Permian.
All nine rigs will receive newly installed Ensign Edge wellsite technology controls systems.
