A recent report released by the Saskatchewan Environmental Society (SES), Canadian think- tank Pembina Institute and Canadian Parks&Wilderness Society states the government needs to establish appropriate planning and regulatory processes before any oil sands development occurs.
“Development of oil sands is still in its early stages in Saskatchewan and therefore we have an opportunity to do things properly and avoid the mistakes we've seen in Alberta,”said SES research adviser, Ann Coxworth.
