An environmental group has welcomed the fact that oil and gas decommissioning jobs are coming to Dundee, but said the removal of normally occurring radioactive material, or NORM waste, needs to be treated with care, writes Rob Watts.

Richard Dixon, director of Friends of the Earth Scotland, told Upstream it was “great” that Dundee will benefit from North Sea decommissioning work when Shell’s Curlew floating production, storage and offloading vessel arrives later this year for cleaning and decontamination.
