The US tight oil giant has retained Meagher Energy Advisors to market 11,400 net acres in Weld County, Colorado. The acreage offsets EOG’s prolific Jake 2-01H well that produced an average of more than 500 barrels per day over its first 90 days.

Offset operators include Bill Barrett, Whiting Petroleum and Anadarko Petroleum.

At one time, EOG owned rights to more than 400,000 acres in the basin targeting the Niobrara but the company has since cooled on the play and most activity has moved to the south around the Wattenberg field with operators such as Anadarko and Noble Energy.
