The two projects are believed to be the Angsi and Bintang fields situated off the coast of Trengganu state in Peninsular Malaysia. Currently EPMI has two gas projects in the country under a sales agreement with Petronas and another project under a joint delivery system with Carigali, Petronas' exploration subsidiary. The latest is the Lawit-A platform, 240 kilometres off Trengganu, which is expected to produce some 450 million cubic feet per day of gas.
EPMI turns up the gas
ESSO Production Malaysia Inc (EPMI) plans to develop another two of its offshore fields to help boost natural gas production by further 10%. Industry sources close to the company said EPMI has submitted development plans to state-owned oil company Petronas.
