Norwegian operator Equinor has made a gas discovery that could add resources to production facilities in the northern part of the Norwegian Sea.
The Orn (Eagle) wildcat found between 8 billion and 15 billion cubic metres of natural gas in a prospect about 12 kilometres south-west of the Vaar Energi-operated subsea field Marulk, which is tied back to the Norne floating production, storage and offloading vessel.
