Equinor is seeking more time from the authorities to file a development plan for the Mikkel South and Flyndretind discoveries near its Aasgard field in the Norwegian Sea as it works on a concept that is due to be selected by the end of the year, writes Steve Marshall.

The operator is looking to exploit total resources of around 35 million barrels of oil equivalent from both Flyndretind and the Gamma and Harepus discoveries in the Mikkel South structure.
