Equinor is poised to take over the reins of developing the Wisting discovery in the Barents Sea off Norway after signing a collaboration pact with Austria’s OMV that will also see the pair work together to tap the Hades-Iris find in the Norwegian Sea.
The agreement is set to grease the wheels of development on Wisting that present operator OMV has been seeking to bring to fruition amid talk that partner Equinor was keen to bring its experience to bear on the project.
