Privately owned Western Gas said that its Equus project off Australia remains on target for first gas in 2024, writes Iain Esau.
Executive director Andrew Leibovitch said that the engineering and design process undertaken by the company’s development partners McDermott and Baker Hughes has "delivered a globally competitive, mid-scale LNG development plan for the Equus fields."
The development comprises three subsea production wells tied back to a floating production storage and offloading vessel, plus a 160-kilometre gas export pipeline to a nearshore floating liquefied natural gas vessel with a capacity of 2 million tonnes per annum.
