Chinese unconventionals drilling contractor Greka Drilling will carry out the 12-month campaign for Essar, which could see production from the block increase to 42 million cubic feet per day of gas by March 2015.
Current output stands at 7.7 MMcfd, which is mostly sold to local companies through test sales, sources said.
Greka has mobilised five GD75 rigs, which could start drilling at Raniganj from September.
