Ketsela Tadesse, head of petroleum licensing at the Ministry of Mines, told delegates at a CWC conference in London that a decision is awaited from the Council of Ministers, stressing that the timing is unclear.
To date, Ethiopia has worked on a first-come, first-served basis when it comes to awarding acreage, but Tadesse said “we are becoming more selective and we need reliable companies to work with us”.
