Euroil makes its debut in shallows off Cameroon

CameroonÕs first indigenous upstream independent explorer Euroil will sink its debut well on its Etinde licence ""between May and June"", according to the company's owner and general manager Chief Tabetando, writes Barry Morgan.

Euroil supports its programme through a technical operating office in Calgary and an Edinburgh-based financial affiliate, Bowleven.

GlobalSantaFe has been contracted on a turnkey basis to drill the probe using either of the jack-ups High Island-7 or High Island-9 .

The most likely candidate is High Island-7 because High Island-9 has just mobilised from Amerada Hess in nearby Gabon and will remain in-country, spudding the first of two wildcats for Energy Africa this week, industry sources confirmed.
