UK player Europa Oil & Gas has set its sights on Lower Cretaceous targets at a new exploration block it has been awarded off Morocco.

The Inezgane Offshore permit sits in water depths of between 600 and 2000 metres in the Agadir basin.

The eight-year permit is divided into three phases, with the initial two-year phase calling for a work programme of reprocessing 1300 square kilometres of 3D seismic and undertaking technical studies, after which Europa has a drill-or-drop option.
