A former employee of contractor giant Weatherford International has been sentenced to jail in the US after appearing to be over eager in his preparation for the industry downturn.
Kiran Andhavarapu was sentenced to 20 months in prison after he pleaded guilty to stealing some $485,000 from his now former employer between February 2014 and November 2015.
The 45-year-old pleaded guilty in February to one count of bank fraud, the Houston Chronicle reported, after he opened up two bank accounts and deposited cheques that were made out to Weatherford’s EProduction Solutions, a division where he worked.
