Pemex slipped to a loss of 87.8 billion pesos ($4.7 billion) in the third quarter as the Mexican state giant was hammered by foreign-exchange losses against the US dollar and British pound.
The loss contrasted with a profit of 26.8 billion pesos in the third quarter last year.
Total sales fell by 20% to 350.4 billion pesos compared to a year earlier, with the figure impacted by both lower commodity prices and lower sales volumes.
