Equinor has gained approval to extend the producing lifetime of subsea facilities at its Alve field in the Norwegian Sea.

The Petroleum Safety Authority gave its consent for the field’s infrastructure to be used for an additional 15 years beyond its scheduled operating lifetime that was due to expire at the end of 2021.

Alve was brought on stream in 2009 with a four-slot subsea template and three production wells tied back to the Norne floating production, storage and offloading vessel in a water depth of 370 metres.
