ExxonMobil is once again expanding its position in the emerging deep-water play off Guyana and plans further appraisal of the huge Liza oil discovery by the end of the year.
The US supermajor snapped up a 50% interest from Israeli explorer Ratio Oil & Gas in the ultra-deepwater Kaieteur block (fomerly Block B), north-east of its Stabroek block where the Liza discovery was drilled last year.
