Fabrication contractors are preparing to submit bids for Chevron’s Captain enhanced oil recovery scheme, the only remaining UK North Sea platform development known to be making concrete progress in the current low oil price environment.
According to industry sources, the four hopefuls in the race are due to deliver tender documents by the middle of next month to the US supermajor, which is expected to take a decision on its preferred contractor slightly later than expected in the first quarter of 2016.
