Fabricators of big offshore platforms in South-East Asia are expecting a sizeable new job to emerge early next year in Malaysia, but are waiting on guidance as to whether Mubadala Petroleum’s Pegaga gas platform will be reserved for domestic contractors.
The Abu Dhabi-headquartered operator recently moved into the front-end engineering and design phase of the Pegaga project, with Aker Solutions’ Malaysian subsidiary employed to carry out the work.
