A report from the US Chemical Safety Board (CSB) into a 2018 rig explosion that killed five oilfield workers in Oklahoma has found a "lack of regulations" governing the onshore sector and "shortcomings in safety management," writes Julia Martinez.
The federal safety watchdog has now urged the industry to develop new safety rules.
The report was released last week by the CSB's interim executive Kristen Kulinowski.
