FEATURE: Barents Sea gas exports have long been a challenge for Norwegian players, with the full-to-capacity Snohvit liquefied natural gas plant currently the only option.
However, operator Equinor has an expansion option at the Snohvit facility at Melkoya, and progress is now being made in studies looking at potential pipeline exports, offering up the potential for a more flexible gas export sector in the future — if there are enough resources to be exploited.
