Private company Cyclone Energy has restarted oil production from the Jingemia oilfield in Western Australia’s onshore Perth basin.
Field partner Norwest Energy said output restarted last weekend, with oil to be trucked to BP's Kwinana refinery south of Perth.
The field had been under care and maintenance since December 2012 under previous operator Origin Energy.
“The Jingemia oilfield remains profitable for the new joint venture due to its significantly lower operating costs than under the previous operator,” Norwest managing director Shelley Robertson said.
