THE Canadian federal government will make its final decision on Kinder Morgan’s proposed Trans Mountain expansion (TMX) pipeline in Western Canada by the middle of December.

During a speech in Calgary, Natural Resources Minister Jim Carr said the federal Liberal government will determine whether the C$6.8 billion (US$5.18 billion) system gets the green light by 19 December.

A federal regulatory review with the National Energy Board and the Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency was filed in July.
