Italy’s Eni has produced first oil from the Mizton field in Area 1 off Mexico, the first new development by a private operator to do so since constitutional changes in 2013 opened the sector to private participants, writes Kathrine Schmidt.
Production via Pemex infrastructure was initially planned at a modest 8000 barrels per day due to capacity constraints, according to the National Hydrocarbons Commission (CNH) oil regulator.
