Production is about 2000 barrels per day of oil, and this will ramp up to 20,000 bpd, said co-owner PetroVietnam.
The field sits in Block PM 304, which also contains the producing Cendor oilfield.
It is understood West Desaru is being tapped by Petrofac’s own mobile offshore production unit, FPF5.
