Five European companies have signed an agreement with Ukraine’s state-owned gas importer and distributor Naftohaz, current pipeline operator Ukrtransgaz and future gas line operator Magistralnye Gazoprovody to create a joint working group to advise on further unbundling steps.

The five European companies are France’s GRTgaz, Netherlands’ Gasunie, Italy’s Snam, Slovakia’s Eustream and Belgium’s Fluxys.

According to Naftohaz, the group “will assist Ukraine in creating an independent operator of the country’s gas pipeline network in accordance with European legislation".
