The ministers focused specifically on how to implement the second phase of the Asean Plan of Action on Energy Co-operation 2004-2009. The areas of co-operation to be pursued in the next five years include implementation of the $7 billion trans-Asean gas pipeline project, the proposed Asean power grid, development of clean coal for energy, development of renewable energy and the establishment of a regional energy policy.
