The Houston-based company was forced on the defensive after Bronte Capital, an investor blog based in Australia, challenged data points Flotek culled from wells drilled in the Eagle Ford shale in South Texas.

Flotek claimed the data was testament to the effectiveness of its citrus-based complex nano-fluid (CnF) surfactants, which are used to stimulate well flow.

However, Bronte pointed out that Flotek had apparently adjusted production figures from three wells where CnF was not applied, omitting initial flow rates to make the wells look less productive than they were.

Those
