The prototype will be built by FMC in Brazil and is expected to be installed in the Campos basin Marlim field in mid-2011. Marlim was picked as the first site at which to install this technology due to its sizeable heavy oil reserves and on account of it being a mature field.

FMC's scope of supply consists of a subsea separation and pumping system, which is designed to process 22,000 barrels of liquids per day.
