Headquartered in the capital Dakar, Africa Onshore Drilling (AOD) has taken delivery of its first US-built land rig, a Wilson-42, now deployed onsite at the Gadiaga field in Senegal.
Extensive safety inspections are nearly completed and Fortesa's general director resident in Senegal, Steve Jones, is poised to supervise its debut well before the end of this month.
Fortesa has been training AOD's 40 employees over a five-month period, ready to begin a possible 19-well programme on the Thies permit where Gadiaga is located.
