The UK’s Forties Pipeline System (FPS) has reopened after it was shut in for a short time due to a lightning strike last week.

Operator Ineos said the crude export line reopened on Friday 18 October after it was shut earlier the same day when lightning caused a power surge at pumping facilities.

“Ineos FPS confirms the pipeline has reopened and we are currently working with our customers to sequence their production into the system,” the operator said.
