Milan-based subsidiary Foster Wheeler Italiana will perform the FEED and technical services contract for Korea Western Power Company's new gasification island.
The plant, to be based on Shell technology, will be built at the existing Taean thermal power generation site on the west coast of the Korean peninsula, about 100 kilometres south of Seoul. The gasification demonstration project is supported in part by the South Korean government.
