The rig is due to mobilise to West Africa following the work to join its sister unit Glomar Adriatic V on a two-and-a-half year contract for ChevronTexaco off Cabinda, Angola.

The yards understood to have submitted bids include Amfels, Signal International, First Wave and Atlantic Marine. Bids were due on Monday and an award will likely follow around mid-month.

The workscope includes adding a third mud pump and reconfiguring the rig's power generation system, including four larger engines.
