France and other European powers are leading the most determined and comprehensive attempt yet by the international community under United Nations auspices to restore central government authority in Libya.
A UN-backed unity government sailed into Tripoli from Tunis last week and, based at a heavily fortified naval base, is said to be working with local militia, Libya’s National Oil Corporation (NOC) and the central bank.
