Located onshore in the south-eastern state of Akwa Ibom, Frontier and UK-registered partner Gulf of Guinea Energy (GOGE), a subsidiary of Seven Energy, used Henan Petroleum’s HPEB-119 land rig for appraisal Uquo-5, but currently has no rig secured for upcoming work.
Frontier managing director Dada Thomas said: “We’re scouting around now for a workover rig for well-4, which we will complete as a back-up gas producer for supplying the 44 million cubic feet per day contracted to the state-owned Ibom Power Company — Uquo-2 is designated as the main gas producer and is ready to go.”
