There is renewed interest in conducting exploration work in Brazil’s Foz de Amazonas basin, despite the difficulties that French major Total has faced in obtaining environmental permits to drill in the region, writes Gareth Chetwynd.
Spectrum Geo has applied to carry out four large 3D surveys in the region in 2021 and 2022, including areas beyond the 200-mile (320-kilometre) limit to Brazilian maritime territory.
