GABON Oil & Hydrocarbons Minister Pascal Houangni Ambouroue has denied reports that the International Monetary Fund had demanded liquidation of the Gabon Oil Company (GOC).
The GOC is central to oil law reforms currently stalled in Gabon’s Senate, legislation which would have to be redrafted if the national oil utility were extinguished.
GOC is currently restructuring in order to absorb state equity participation in oil and gas assets while retaining operatorship of the Mboumba and Remboue fields.
