Petronas has been awarded two more offshore blocks in Gabon under the West African nation’s new legal regime.

The Malaysia state giant has been awarded exploration and production licences for the F-12 Yitu block and the F-13 Meboun block, which together cover about 4300 square kilometres.

The blocks have been awarded outside of the ongoing 12th offshore licensing round for which bids for some 35 open blocks must be submitted before 10 January 2020.
