In mid-February, the Yuanlu-7 well tested 1.2 million cubic metres of gas per day.
This follows an earlier flow of 1.5 million cubic metres per day from the Yuanlu-5 well, drilled in the same area on February 12.
Sinopec targets first gas from the field in 2013 at 1.7 billion cubic metres per year, a volume to be doubled in 2015.
Gas will be moved to eastern Chinese provinces via an existing pipeline linking Sichuan and Shanghai.
