Political uncertainty and the ongoing restructuring of Ukraine's market has led Russia's Gazprom to argue there is unlikely to be any imminent new contract for the transit of gas through its neighbour to European markets, writes Vladimir Afanasiev.
Gazprom board member Yelena Burmistrova said this week the upcoming reshuffle in Ukraine's government and elections for the country's parliament has left the Russian gas monopoly "with no one to talk" with on the issue at present.
