Russian gas giant Gazprom is set to open talks with the government over state support for a project involving an onshore liquefied natural gas plant and a related polymer facility on the Baltic Sea, writes Vladimir Afanasiev.

Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev has instructed the Finance Ministry and state-owned bank VEB to submit their views on Gazprom chairman Alexei Miller's petition to government to obtain an undisclosed amount of state financing for the proposed development, according to reports this week.
