State-controlled Russian gas monopoly Gazprom has extended its existing long-term gas supply contract with Austria’s OMV to 2040 from the end of 2028.
The extension contract was signed this week during the visit by Russian President Vladimir Putin to Austria where he met Chancellor Sebastian Kurz.
Gazprom executive chairman Alexei Miller said the revised gas contract is “another confirmation that demand for imported gas in Austria and Europe continues to grow, and that Gazprom is prepared to satisfy it”.
