The investments include a $100 million GE Global Research Centre, helping to expand a fast-growing technology park on Rio de Janeiro’s Ilha do Fundao, where the Petrobras R&D base is also undergoing expansion and modernisation.
The GE research base will employ 200 researchers and engineers, working on advanced technologies for the oil and gas, renewable energy, mining, rail and aviation industries.
